Bulova 250

A clone of the popular and historically significant Regency TR-1, the Bulova 250 Series is a much harder to find set than its Regency look-alike. Their plastic cases are virtually identical with the exception of the front logos and the elimination of the earphone jack on the Bulova case. According to Eric Wrobbel’s booklet, The Regency TR-1 Family, the Bulova 250 Series was introduced in mid-June of 1955, about 7 months following the Regency TR-1.

A word of caution to new collectors and those who have never opened a TR-1 or Bulova 250 Series case...DO NOT use the coin slot at the bottom. This puts undue pressure on the case and has been the cause of many cracks in the delicate plastic. The best way to open these cases is to hold the radio with one side facing you, slip one thumbnail under the front of the case and one under the back. GENTLY push down on the front of the case while GENTLY pulling up slightly on the back. The two halves should now separate easily with little chance of damage.
