George's Foreign Radios...Last Updated on February 14, 2002 |
These sets are some of the radios I have obtained from different parts of the world. This is the latest branch of the hobby that I have become excited about. In particular, the radios of France in the 1950s have caught my eye...
I want to extend my thanks to the many people who have helped me find radios for my collection from all over the world. Many people from the net have offered me wonderful radios over the years. I wish you good luck in your own hunt!
I have been wanting to get a page up about these radios for a long time. Somehow, I kept postponing it, and I decided to finally put up a page. The photos really need to be redone, but at least I have something, so please forgive the quality of them. Countries listed in alphabetic order.

People have asked why I don't have any German radios. Actually, I do have some, but I do not have any photos of them yet. I may take some and put them here on the web. Actually, it was a gift of a german Grundig radio/phono from my brother many years ago, that rekindled my love of antique radios. I was interested in old radios as I was growing up, but while I was away at college, this interest was superceeded by the needs of completing my degrees and getting a job. Lately, the uniqueness of sets from around the world that sort of broke the mold of radios I had been used to started me in this latest phase of my collecting. |
