The Starlite transistor radio and matching speaker box are hard to find, in fact, this is the only set I've seen in 10 years of transistor collecting. The horizontal shirt-pocket size radio, model YTR-602, features a beautiful blue reverse painted dial panel with gold, black, and red highlights. The body of the radio is ivory plastic with a silver metal perforated grill.

The speaker box is made of brown painted wood and has a gold metal honeycomb grill with a red, white and blue cloisonne badge in the upper left hand corner. The metal strip at the base of the grill declares this to be a "Transistor Sound System." The most unusual feature of the speaker box is the beautiful brass front plate complete with an etching of a butterfly and a woman's hand... a most unusual design.

Both the radio and the speaker box are marked "Made in Japan."
